– My name is Dr. Andrew Dhanasopon. I’m a thoracic surgeon. I treat diseases of the lung, esophagus, chest wall and diaphragm. We’re trying to see patients
with pectus excavatum. Patients with pectus excavatum, they have a sunken breast
bone from childhood. We’ve adopted the techniques that were made for minimally
invasive repair in children to perform these procedures for adults. The most rewarding part of
being a thoracic surgeon is the moment when a patient comes
back to see you in clinic, you’ve improved their quality of life. The moment when patients thank you for being a part of their lives in a time that was very anxious. It’s a very rewarding thing.
