Colorectal Surgeon: Katharine Louise Jackson, MD, MBBS

My name is Doctor Louise Jackson. I am a Colorectal surgeon at Duke Health. The patients that I take care of are
patients with any problems with the colon, the rectum, or the anus. Typically that’s cancer problems or inflammatory bowel disease such as
ulcerative colitis or Crohn’s disease. As well as anal rectal problems, and
accidental bowel leakage patients. In taking care of my patients, I’ve, able to do that in
a minimally invasive fashion. Both with laparoscopic surgery,
and with robotic surgery. I have additional experience in
making j pouches for patient who need all of the colon and rectum removed and
reconstructive surgery after that. When I meet patients for
the first time I understand that it’s a very stressful time in their lives and
I want to put them at ease, and know that I’ll take care of them
as if they are a member of my family. I understand that it’s my responsibility
to have the best technical skill and knowledge that I could possibly have so
that I can help them. Would also understand that I
wanna take care of them and make sure that they get through this and
as positive way as possible. I’m originally from the UK. I did medical school and
I started working over there and then I moved to America to become the best
surgeon that I could possibly be. And I’m really excited to be here in
North Carolina and working for Duke.
